Struggling with a mental health concern can be hard, but what makes it harder is trying to face it alone, trying to navigate services, or getting blocked in progress by past trauma or current life stressors. Parenting is hard; relationships are hard; struggling with depression, anxiety, ADD, and other diagnoses is hard; getting help for the first time or trying again to get help is hard.

I have more than 16 years of experience working in the field of mental health, 8 years as a Licensed Professional Counselor. I have worked in offices, schools, mental health centers, crisis phone lines, in homes, and out in the community. In addition to a Master’s Degree in Counseling, I have completed extensive formal trainings in attachment-based approaches, child development, trauma-informed approaches, heart-rate biofeedback, cognitive behavioral therapy, and foster/adoption issues.

When inviting a professional to help you, it is important that this person have expertise and knowledge about what you are struggling with. It is also important that the professional take the time to learn your specific experience. This balance is what I offer as I work with you. Together we will create our work. I will meet you where you are. We will create a new relationship together that can be a safe place to carry you forward. I will bring the expertise, skill and research-based knowledge. You bring the courage to do work that may be hard, but can be very good.
