You tell yourself “things aren’t that bad” or that “life’s been good…so why do I feel like it’s not?” Shaking these inner thoughts has gotten more difficult to do, and you find yourself struggling to convey – and believe – that you have it all together. This inner dialogue is rarely discussed with anyone outside yourself, however, because you find it deeply unsettling to share about yourself to others. You push those you love away, and feel like everyone around you is emotionally dangerous. It’s difficult to put words to the deep pain you’re carrying, and though you’ve tried to shut off your needs entirely, you’ve been unable to do so. Yet you somehow continue to ache to be fully seen, intimately known, and still loved despite it all. But you also shudder when others get too close as you think about the cost of being intimately known.
Like an explorer in an unknown land, we will walk arm in arm to wade into the deeper, softer territory that is your heart and soul. This land, though neglected, is still teeming with life even as it starves for nourishment. You will learn to practice voicing what you’ve been through and what you need to begin to thrive. Listening to that still, small voice within that you’ve learned to turn down and make changes to honor, heal, and grow the person you’ve always wondered if you were meant to be is part of the plan. This complex and deep work isn’t for the faint of heart, but I am an intimately kind guide who can take us into the places you’ve likely known you need to go into.
I am a licensed professional counselor candidate who has gone through intensive schooling and inner healing work to make me willing and capable to do this kind of therapy that incorporates narrative and here-and-now practices. I know how to fight for healing despite the devastation, for intimacy despite the terror, and for redemption despite the odds. Whether it is with you and your partner in the room with me or we’re discussing your reports of the life you lead outside my office, I know how to lead you into more fulfilling practices that will heal – and not further harm – your heart and your life.
