Many things keep us from living the life we want to live. Circumstances out of our control leave us with unexplainable grief, shame, fear, confusion, and interpersonal pain. Whether it be a move, loss of a loved one, job change, or traumatic event, these pivotal moments of our story can cause us to wonder “where do I go from here?” or “how can I begin to pick up the pieces?” Maybe you find yourself asking “who am I now?” or “where is my place in the world?” We can be left feeling alone and stuck, uncertain with how to move forward. When life knocks the wind from our sails, sometimes borrowing hope from another is what we need until we learn to carry it for ourselves.
As a licensure candidate in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, I count it an honor to support individuals across the lifespan in whatever season they find themselves in. I firmly believe that all people have a fundamental longing for connection, a sense of belonging, and a need for others to bear witness to their story. Grounded in evidence based, trauma-informed practice, I aim to foster a safe, authentic, nonjudgmental space within which issues can be explored and healing can begin to take root.
I am deeply passionate about journeying with individuals seeking healing and wholeness in their lives. It has been my privilege to work with individuals as young as 8 years old through older adulthood courageously navigate various relational and personal struggles including grief and loss, anxiety, interpersonal and marital conflict, life-stage/cultural adjustment, depression, and relational trauma. Beyond my clinical training and education, my background includes a decade spent in southern Asia. This season gifted me with extensive cross-cultural exposure, rich multicultural community, and a heightened curiosity for other cultures and ways of life different from my own.
Throughout therapy, we work to more honestly engage with your story, find meaning from your past, strengthen your awareness and understanding of your emotions, and improve your connections with others. Coming from a holistic, client-centered approach, I draw from several theories, techniques, and perspectives including Attachment Therapy, Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, Emotion-Focused Therapy, and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy.
I offer reduced-fee counseling. If you or someone you know could benefit from this service, don’t hesitate to reach out to me by phone or email. I would be honored to be a traveling companion along this leg of your journey towards peace, healing, and growth.
