We are relational creatures, humans. We know ourselves through relationships and need connection, belonging, and community. However, our deepest wounds are often made in relationships. Our family of origin, romantic partners, friends, and faith communities all impact our relationship with ourselves. While it is in relationships we are hurt, it is also in relationships that we heal, which makes therapy such a powerful resource for growth.
I know what it’s like to feel divided and wrestle with shame, not sure of where I belong or who my people are. I know how heavy internal conflict becomes that I can get in my own way in a desperate attempt to find relief. I also know it’s possible to find hope and freedom because I see it through those who take the courageous step to find healing in therapy.
As a Licensed Professional Counselor, I have helped people grow and heal through building insight into who they are, making meaning out of past hurts, developing adaptive coping skills, and integrating disconnected parts of themselves to become whole, present, and self-accepting. Unburdening and integrating create the emotional margin needed to have hope for the future and a vision for how to get there.
My favorite part of therapy is seeing people have a new understanding of themselves through being compassionate with their story. I work with teens, adults, couples, and families around the intersection of sexuality, spirituality, and identity, where issues with sex, trauma, singleness, romantic relationships, and what all these mean for Christians are found. With curiosity and kindness, I offer a supportive space to be with all of your story.
I count it as a privilege to journey with people into the most sacred parts of their stories, and I do all I can to honor the vulnerable pain and joy that shows up in therapy. Thank you for the time in getting to know me, and I look forward to the opportunity of connecting with you.
