It is never an easy job, and of course, every parent needs the support of others in one way or another. Sometimes that support comes from a group of friends, as a bible study, through the support of family, or from a licensed counselor.
Help with Parenting
Grace Counseling can help you with your parenting needs in a variety of ways. For starters, we have a team of counselors under one roof so each individual in your family can have his or her needs addressed one on one. We have counselors who specialize in play therapy, who can teach you strategies to get your child talking while you play with them. We also have therapists who are Certified Addiction Counselors, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists, Certified Anger Management Specialists, and other more specialized certifications to meet your family’s specific needs.
A counselor can also support your healthy parenting by giving you a safe, confidential space to talk. We work through many issues such as discipline, adoption, co-parenting, and life changes. A counselor can also listen without judgment. They can then share strategies for helping your children through the challenges life brings. We can meet with you alone as the parent, or use our friendly play therapy room to demonstrate different techniques. We can help you recognize the signs your teenager is using drugs or recognize the warning signs of suicidal behavior, or help your five year old learn ‘pizza breaths’ to help them calm down when he or she is upset.
Grace Counseling has 14 counselors under one roof to help with all of your family’s mental health needs. To request an appointment, call (720) 489-8555 or click here.
