Becoming a wife and mother was one of the most difficult transitions I’ve made. I had spent years building achievements as an athlete and a Harvard College graduate, but none of that let me skip the tender, raw work these milestones demanded.
I knew how to white-knuckle my way into ever greater achievements, but I was terrified of my inner life. The most meaningful change in my life began when I started facing myself honestly and learning to tolerate what I feared in myself. I pursued an unflinching commitment to reality, both personally in my own psychotherapy, and professionally in my clinical training.
I’ve seen this process of psychotherapy change my life and the lives of many others, not by taking away the various challenges that life brings, but by helping us rise to meet them. I bring my experiences and training to guide you in emotionally honest and transformative psychotherapy, helping you face whatever challenges you are wrestling with.
I draw from relational dynamic approaches and skills-based modalities to help you develop practical skills, improve how you manage your feelings, and relate effectively to other people. I work under the supervision of Dr. Rob Gibson, Psy. D. and offer reduced-fee counseling to those who need it.
