The most beautiful people we have known are those who know defeat, known suffering, known loss and have found their way out of the depths. These persons have an approach, a sensitivity, an understanding of life that fills them with compassion, gentleness and a deep loving concern.” Beautiful people do not just happen.”  ~Elisabeth Kubler-Ross

Life is Hard….

Ever feel like you are in an exhaustive struggle with worry, stress, and constant interpersonal insecurities? You might struggle with your relationships toppling you with fear, a high-pressure work life, or in a marriage that keeps you up at night. You might have perfectionist feelings and overthinking patterns that send you into constant “mental” gymnastics that affects your academic life or friendships.

If this sounds like you, you are not alone! We all find ourselves on life’s detours and roadblocks when we did not expect them, nor invite them on our journey. I identify with life’s challenges because I have been there.

As a seasoned marriage, family, and child/adolescent therapist with over 25 years of experience, I can help you find your way out of this quagmire into a more confident and secure emotional place. We will collaborate together and craft a plan to help you out of this vicious cycle and build your faith in the process.

How I Work With Different Ages:

With Children 7 – Middle School:

I use non-directive and directive play therapy techniques like art, sand, drawing, games, and storytelling to help children process their emotions and thoughts with challenges like anxiety, depression, grief or ADHD.

With Older Children (11 +) and Teens:

I use “talk therapy” and we explore techniques that help with anxiety, mood management, assertiveness and relationship/boundaries that can aid in confidence in school, friendships and the drama of socializing with peers

With Individuals and Couples:

I assist with life transitions like new parenthood, moves, or career shifts and college to name a few. Sometimes its communication issues, relationship challenges or hard situations like marital infidelity and partner betrayal. Identifying strengths, finding healthier coping strategies, and defining boundaries so that trust can be ignited again are just some of the topics we might be exploring in therapy. My therapeutic approach is through the lens of family systems and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).

Whether you are a in a marital relationship, single, or even a child or teen, my approach is warm, understanding, and deliberately directive to open new opportunities for your personal growth when life has felt like one big block. You will find hope is right there waiting for you to discover all along. I congratulate you on taking this step as I know it’s not easy, but it can yield good things in your life.

I look forward to working with you and seeing your success! You can schedule an appointment online or call or email the front desk to get started.
